Morbegno in Cantina - Eventi di gusto – viva l’enogastronomia! - Events of taste - long live the food and wine!

Conoscete i piatti tipici valtellinesi?

Today I want to talk about an event that will be held in a few weeks and which I participate always very, very happy. It’s “Morbegno in cantina”, an event designed to taste the wines produced in the area.

The format is very simple and very attractive: buying a “pass” you will have the opportunity to enter into cellars where wine is kept and taste it, accompanied by local delicacies such as cheeses and meats.

You can choose from five types of paths and, thanks to a map that you will be provided, it will be easy to move from one cellar to another. And the wine will be poured into a glass with logo of the event, hand to you with a small bag to carry it.

The atmosphere is really nice, as well as the cellars where you enter. And into the streets of the town you can visit the stalls or eat some typical dishes of Valtellina. I can't resist from taking pizzocheri and sciatt!

Do you know the typical dishes of Valtellina? I hope so, if you do not know them yet I highly recommend you go and try it and I promise I will write you a few recipes.

Just remember one thing: the driver should not drink. If you just can’t give up I suggest you take the train, the station is very close.

This event is not the only one that takes place in the area, so for more information: http://www.valtellina.it/info/1036/morbegno_in_cantina.html

Eventi di gusto – viva l’enogastronomia! - Events of taste - long live the food and wine!

Today I will not post a recipe but to speak of events related to food and especially to the territory. They are events that I like very much, what we generally call "festivals": are held in the territories where the products are grown and processed, usually they are itinerant and give you the chance to discover, in addition to the food, even the places from which they come. In most cases, in fact, are organized by the local Pro Loco, and I have to say they do an excellent job.

Food and discovery or rediscovery of the territories ... who could ask for more?

I love to participate in these moments, but do not always succeed. I decided, however, to write and share events that I find interesting for you, maybe if I do not, someone else can join in! (lucky you!).

Here's my first proposal: FESTIVAL OF GORGONZOLA!

The festival takes place, of course, in Gorgonzola from 13 to 15 September 2013

I'm not gone yet (unfortunately), but hope to do so this year, also because I have seen the choice of dishes to be enjoyed and I must say that I don't know where to start!

If you want to go, here you will find all the information you need! Enjoy!

I want to clarify that I write about these events in a completely random. Some I know them because I have participated in, others because I would take part. Usually I discover their existence in the newspapers or on the internet, there will probably be many more of immense interest which, unfortunately, I don't know yet, I will discover them slowly and, of course, I'll post to you.
